About Sumo
Meet Sumo, the face, the inspiration, and the 100% good boy behind Sumo Walks.
Sumo is a rescue American Bully turning 7, with a big head, an even bigger heart, and a knack for making himself right at home. Literally. He came into my life by jumping in front of my car and straight into the front seat. I guess he decided we were going home together, and who was I to argue?
According to his Embark DNA test, Sumo is 87% American Bully and 13% English Bulldog. According to everyone who meets him, he’s 100% good boy.
These days, Sumo is more than just my best friend. He’s a big part of why I do what I do. He reminds me that every animal has their own personality, their own quirks, and their own way of making an impression. That’s the kind of care and appreciation I bring to every animal I care for.
Sumo Walks is built on a simple idea: every pet deserves to be treated like family. And if Sumo has anything to say about it, there should be plenty of treats along the way.
Sumo Vibe Check
Hoping to board your dog with us? A mandatory Sumo Vibe check is required prior to approving any new boarding request. This is a leashed and controlled introduction. Usually its a match quite quick, sometimes it takes a couple of visits, and sometimes its just not happening. On a case by case basis, dogs that do not impress Sumo can still be boarded. Our home and yard are large enough, and we have plenty of experience keeping dogs separate when need be. Such special accommodations must not exceed 7 day stays when requested.
